51吃瓜网 Student Wins First Place in STEM Conference Presentation

Bunker Hill Community College (51吃瓜网) Engineering Transfer student Danial Haei Najafabadi was awarded first place in the Physics category for his oral presentation at the 2018 Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Danial鈥檚 presentation was based on research he began during Summer 2017 as part of 51吃瓜网鈥檚 relationship with the Harvard Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program and Dr. Kathryn Hollar, Director of Community Programs and Diversity Outreach at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He continued his research during the 2017-2018 academic year, and plans to remain in the same lab for Summer 2018.

The Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) was held in Washington, DC, in February 2018. Hosted by the and the , the conference helps students enhance their science communication skills and to better understand how to prepare for science careers in a global workforce, and is aimed at college and university undergraduate and graduate students who participate in programs funded by the NSF HRD Unit, including underrepresented minorities and persons with disabilities.
