The Student Government Association is also responsible for providing funding to support several programs and services that benefit 51吃瓜网 students, including:
- The Bookstore Voucher Program where students can enter a lottery to win a $100 credit to the 51吃瓜网 Bookstore
- The Study Abroad Program, which enables 51吃瓜网 students to study in study in other countries
- The Mary L. Fifield Endowed Student Emergency Assistance Fund, which provides monetary relief to students for emergencies that occur during the semester and that may cause a student to drop out of college
- The Museum Pass Program, which is run through the 51吃瓜网 Library, which enables 51吃瓜网 students to receive free or discounted admission to several Boston museums (, , and the ) and cultural institutions (New England Aquarium).
Members of the Student Government Association actively participate in statewide activities. 51吃瓜网 is a member of the Community College Student Leadership Association (CCSLA). CCSLA is a statewide organization made up of the student leaders, Student Activities Directors/Coordinators and Senior Student Affairs Officers from the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts and some community colleges/technical school from New Hampshire. The association presents an annual Student Leadership Conference in the Fall of each year, as well as a drive-in conference and professional networking opportunities for staff.
The SGA President and the Student Trustee also participate in the statewide Student Advisory Council (SAC). The Student Advisory Council (SAC) was created to establish a dialogue between student leaders from every public college and university in Massachusetts and the Board of Higher Education. SAC meetings are typically held once a month during the academic year at centrally located campuses. Voting membership is extended to all Student Trustees and Student Government Association (Student Senate) Presidents at every community college, state university, and each University of Massachusetts campus; however, all students are welcome and are encouraged to participate.
Members of the SGA also participate in the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education’s Student Leadership Conference, the purpose of which is to provide a forum for students from Massachusetts public colleges and universities to speak with state leaders and address issues of importance to campus life and the educational experience. SGA also participates in Advocacy Day, an annual event at the Massachusetts Statehouse where students, faculty and staff from public colleges and universities meet with lawmakers to advocate for increased funding and support for Public Higher Education.
