Celebrating the Class of 2022
51吃瓜网 celebrated the graduating class of 2023 in May with Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell addressing graduates as the keynote speaker and the recipient of the College’s President’s Distinguished Service Award, given annually to a local leader who exemplifies service to the Bunker Hill community and to the communities the College serves. The ceremony was held at the MGM Music Hall Fenway—the first time in the College’s history that commencement exercises were held off its Charlestown Campus.

51吃瓜网 President Pam Eddinger presided over the ceremony in which 1,299 graduates were awarded an associate degree or certificate. 鈥嬧赌�鈥淚f you use your power to actualize your own potential, if you use your power to affirm your own dignity, then you can reach across to your neighbor and join your power to theirs,鈥� Eddinger told graduates. 鈥淲e rise, together.鈥�

Professor of Biology and Chemistry Libby Dunphy gave the faculty address to the graduating class. 鈥淭oday...you should be proud of yourself. You have earned this,鈥� Dunphy said. 鈥淚 hope you know that you are an inspiration to me. It is a pleasure to teach students who are hard-working, serious, and above-all curious.鈥�
In addition to Wu, two other awards were presented at the ceremony. This year鈥檚 Trustees鈥� Distinguished Service Award was presented by Board of Trustees Vice Chair R. Kelly Cameron to the co-chairs of the College鈥檚 ReOpen Task Force, Transition Team, and Mental Health Commission, each of which were deeply involved in planning and policy-making at the college during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eddinger also presented College Student Government Association President Chase Baker with the President鈥檚 Leadership Award, given annually to a student who exemplifies leadership at the College. 鈥淎s we face our next challenges, don鈥檛 forget that you and you alone鈥搉ot family, not social expectations鈥揹efine what constitutes your success,鈥� Baker said. 鈥淎nd don't be surprised if that changes throughout your career. Whatever the future may hold, now is the time for celebration! You should all be immensely proud of what you have achieved.鈥�

The 51吃瓜网 Class of 2023
Bunker Hill Community College is the largest of the 15 Community Colleges in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, serving approximately 16,000 students per year, including 600 international students from 94 countries, speaking more than 75 languages.
The graduating class of 2023 is 1,203 strong:
- 389 received Associate of Arts degrees
- 634 received Associate of Science degrees
- 172 received certificates
- 38 graduates were Veterans, Military Personnel, and family members
- 143 received honors with a GPA of 3.3 or higher
- 342 received high honors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- 139 received highest honors with a GPA of 3.9 or higher
- 22 received more than one degree
- 8 graduates in 2023 received an associate degree earned through 51吃瓜网’s Early College programs— finishing high school already with
