Staff Spotlight: Nahomi Carlisle - AACC Awards of Excellence Finalist – Rising Star Executive

Bunker Hill Community College (51³Ô¹ÏÍø) proudly celebrates Associate Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, and Section 504/ADA Coordinator Nahomi Carlisle, who has been named a finalist for the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Awards of Excellence in the Rising Star Executive category.

Since joining 51³Ô¹ÏÍø in October 2020, Nahomi has been a driving force behind advancing access, opportunity, and inclusion across the college. With more than 16 years of legal experience, she brings deep expertise and a strong legal foundation to her role, strengthening the college’s compliance efforts and its commitment to equity.
Nahomi’s leadership extends far beyond policy and compliance. Through the Office of Access and Opportunity, she helps foster a welcoming, inclusive campus environment. She also leads and moderates 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Compelling Conversations Series, which brings thought-provoking speakers to engage and inspire students, faculty, and staff.
Reflecting on the recognition, Nahomi shared, “I am deeply humbled because no one rises alone. I am here because of the sacrifices of many before me.”
Her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion has been a defining focus throughout her career, during which she has worked to drive sustainable, meaningful change in higher education. A graduate of Bentley University (B.A.) and New England Law (J.D.), Nahomi continues to lead with purpose, compassion, and vision.
51³Ô¹ÏÍø President Dr. Pam Eddinger praised Nahomi’s achievement, saying, “This national recognition highlights not only Nahomi’s accomplishments but also 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s ongoing commitment to creating equitable opportunities and empowering our community.”
Nahomi also credits the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community for her success, expressing gratitude for the encouragement and mentorship she has received. “My 51³Ô¹ÏÍø family continues to inspire and uplift me every day, especially President Dr. Pam Eddinger for her unwavering leadership, mentorship, and belief in my work.”
