Health Pathway Programs in the Spotlight
Admissions Community Breakfast at Chelsea Campus
Kicking off with a welcome note by Associate Director of Admissions Kandley Val and Provost Dr. James Caniff, the breakfast session was a deep dive into 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's Health Pathway programs. Professor Dana Thomas took the stage with a keynote on Surgical Technology, sharing the six ingredients for success: "Passion, Purpose, Persistence, Personality, Professionalism, and Plant good seeds and cultivate." The Keynote was followed by a poignant student panel discussion about their journey within the Health Pathway at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Maryanne Atkinson, Dean of Health Sciences, steered the conversation, allowing students to share their career trajectories and experiences. For those who found the application processes daunting, Admissions Coordinator Tenzin Dhekyong and Admissions Pathway Coach Michael Jacob led an insightful session on demystifying the application process for selective health programs. They provided valuable tips on choosing the right health career and identifying courses to complete your degree.
The day ended on an interactive note, with a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Resource Fair and networking. Attendees got a chance to converse with staff, representatives from student support, and Health Pathway departments. They also had a guided experience of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø labs and classrooms.
