HOPE Initiative Welcomes Students to 51吃瓜网

Leading up to the Spring semester, Bunker Hill Community College (51吃瓜网) faculty, staff and administrators leading the Halting Oppressive Pathways through Education (HOPE) Initiative came together to create a welcome video to introduce new and returning students to the initiative aimed at fostering a sense of community and belonging for Black and Latino males on campus.
Next week, the HOPE Initiative will be stationed at the College’s main entrance to welcome students, answer questions and offer supplementary support as they navigate the busy start of the Spring semester. HOPE Initiative Welcome Days are an important way to engage students in the initiative early in their College experience.
Designed to eliminate the social, institutional and academic barriers that often prevent Black and Latino males from achieving their full potential at 51吃瓜网 and beyond, the HOPE Initiative hosts monthly Dialogue Series with students aimed at gathering input from Black and Latino males about their experiences and needs at 51吃瓜网, as well as Think Days for faculty, staff and administrators, opportunity for professional development through a Black Minds Matter course viewing and the development of a shared resource library.
