51吃瓜网 Welcomes Boston Public Schools Students

The day began with an assembly of the students, where they heard from current 51吃瓜网 students in a panel discussion about the 51吃瓜网 experience. Throughout the day students visited tables where they received information about Mayor Walsh’s tuition-free community college program, the admission process, student activities and athletics at 51吃瓜网, study abroad programs and internships. Students also had the chance to experience a “majors fair” where they could engage with faculty representatives from some of 51吃瓜网’s academic programs including STEM/BioTech, Culinary Arts, Allied Health and Business. Many students participated in a career exploration activity led by LifeMap Advisors and got a taste of what a 51吃瓜网 class is like by attending class demonstrations led by faculty from the Music and Energy and Sustainability departments.
The high schools that participated in the visit to 51吃瓜网 included Charlestown HS, Madison Park Technical Vocational HS, Community Academy of Science and Health, East Boston HS, Brighton HS, West Roxbury Academy, Urban Science Academy, TechBoston, Boston International HS, Excel HS and Jeremiah E. Burke HS.
