51吃瓜网 Basketball’s All Stars Go for It—Tonight!

Another high moment of the 51吃瓜网 year comes tonight, when five extraordinary 51吃瓜网 team members play in the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 All Star games at Bunker Hill Community College. Be there!
51吃瓜网 Men鈥檚 Basketball forward David Stewart, point guard Elijah Rogers and forward Fredens Deneus will represent the College in the All Star Game at 8 p.m. Women鈥檚 basketball team guards Chuckearah Johnson and Regine Exume, who both made the 2015-2016 NJCAA All-Region team, will play at 6 p.m.
Stewart and Rogers made the 2nd team all-region team, while Deneus went on to become the only 51吃瓜网 men鈥檚 basketball player to make the 2015-2016 NJCAA All-Region 1st team and Division 3 Nationals All-Tournament teams. Deneus, a junior college All-American candidate, ranks second in the U.S. in field goals and seventh in rebounds.
The 鈥淏ig Three,鈥� as Deneus, Stewart and Rogers are fondly referred to, are hoping to move on to four-year schools next year. Stewart and Rogers are both being courted by Division 2 and 3 programs. Deneus is likely to be offered a full athletic scholarship in the coming weeks. To date, representatives from Manhattan College, South Carolina State University and Longwood University鈥攁ll NCAA Division 1 schools鈥攈ave expressed serious interest in the player.
鈥淭he team鈥檚 success belongs to all alumni who have played or coached , and I'm proud to be the torch bearer as we continue our quest for powerhouse status,鈥� said Head Coach Nkrumah Jones. Jones was voted All Region Coach of the Year by a jury of his peers. The coach, who is in his fifth year of coaching at 51吃瓜网, was honored on March 9 at the NJCAA National Basketball Championship banquet.
The 2001 51吃瓜网 alumnus, a former shooting guard, is one of several Bulldogs to have scored 1,000 points in his career. When he鈥檚 not coaching the Bulldogs, Jones teaches special education at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. 鈥淭he men's team has established a strong tradition that if student athletes want to improve and continue their quest to play at a four-year school, 51吃瓜网 is a great destination to achieve that mission,鈥� said Jones.
