ABG is the business honor society for accredited junior, community and technical two-year colleges. The society recognizes and rewards academic excellence among business honor students and lauds their contributions to learning and business.

“We are pleased that we now have the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of our business students, and help them develop their leadership and service skills. Eta Mu also provides a forum through which 51³Ô¹ÏÍø business scholars can exchange ideas,” said Fontes, who is Eta Mu’s advisor.

Other benefits include the experience that 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students can gain by participating in chapter activities; opportunities to hold chapter and/or national office; displaying the credential on their résumés; networking at ABG’s annual National Leadership Conference; and gaining national recognition for academic excellence through ABG scholarships and academic competitions. Members interested in careers in government service can receive an added boost—the U.S. Government recognizes membership in ABG as meeting one of the requirements for entrance at the GS-7 level of federal service.

To be eligible to join Eta Mu, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students must be majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Management, Sport Management or Taxation. Students must also have 12 credits and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. For more information, visit abg.org.
